Starting and Completing Pocket PCIT Online

Picture
Thank you for your interest in Pocket Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Online. Pocket PCIT Online is a free resource offered by the Mailman Center for Child Development at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. In order for us to best understand how this program helps families, we ask that you complete some brief forms. The forms will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. You will be asked questions about your family’s background, your child’s behavior, and your view of your family relationships. Once our PCIT staff has confirmed that you have completed the form, you will be given access to Pocket PCIT resources within one business day. If for any reason you do not receive access, please email our PCIT staff and we will troubleshoot the issue with you.

If you complete these forms, you will be sent a very brief form, which takes less than 5 minutes to complete once a week for two additional weeks.  Finally, we will ask you to complete a similar set of forms asking you questions about your child's behavior and your view of your family relationships four weeks after you complete the forms today. Similar to today, we expect those forms will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. We ask you to complete these forms so that we can better understand how Pocket PCIT Online works. Once you complete the initial set of forms, you will be provided with unlimited free access to Pocket PCIT. We will not  ask you for any kind of payment information because this resource is intended to be free for families.

You may choose not to answer these questions. You may choose to stop completing the form at any time. Your completion of these forms are completely voluntary. If you refuse to answer the questions or stop answering them at any time, there will be no penalty, and you will not lose any benefits to which you would otherwise be entitled. Information about your family that you give to University of Miami PCIT staff from this form will be kept as confidential as possible, as required by law. The risk to completing this form is very small, but it is possible that some people may feel uncomfortable answering these questions. If you qualify to take part in the study and are interested in taking part, then your name and information will be recorded by PCIT staff; this will be kept confidential, but there is a small risk that people outside of the research team could learn this information.  If you are not interested in the study, then University of Miami PCIT staff will destroy the personal information you provide.

The benefit to you completing these forms are that you will be given access to the Pocket PCIT Online Resources. This involves you being able to watch parenting videos and read numerous parenting strategies and tips.

If you do not wish to complete this form, you will not be given access to Pocket PCIT Online. However, you can call 2-1-1 for a list of other service options for your family or go to PCIT.org to find a PCIT therapist near you.  If you would like more information regarding the PCIT program at the University of Miami, please visit our website.
I agree to complete the forms and participate in Pocket PCIT Online
I am not sure about participating and I would like to contact Pocket PCIT Online about some of my questions before I decide.
I do not agree to complete the forms but would still like information about parenting
